Indigenous Engagement
Indigenous Engagement
Built on Respect. Grounded in Place. Focused on Relationships.
Turning Point Surveys operates on Treaty 8 territory, and we recognize the enduring connection Indigenous Peoples have to the lands on which we work. We are committed to building respectful, relationship-based engagement grounded in listening, accountability, and an understanding that our work takes place within a broader social, cultural, and historical context.
While we are not an Indigenous-owned company, we approach our work with a responsibility to engage in ways that are thoughtful, informed, and responsive to community perspectives. We take the time to understand local priorities, rights, and interests, and we strive to ensure our project work reflects respect for the land and those who steward it.
Our approach to Indigenous engagement is practical and relationship-driven. We prioritize clear communication, early awareness, and consistency throughout the project lifecycle. By working collaboratively with clients, communities, and partners, we aim to ensure engagement is meaningful and supports positive, long-term outcomes wherever possible.
We recognize that strong relationships are built over time through actions, not statements, and we are committed to continuous learning and improvement in how we engage.

Turning Point Surveys is committed to:
- Respectful, culturally aware engagement grounded in local context
- Recognizing and respecting the rights and perspectives of Indigenous Peoples
- Open, transparent, and timely communication

- Supporting positive social and economic outcomes where opportunities arise

Willow Lake Métis Group
"Working with Turning Point Surveys has been a truly meaningful partnership for our organization. Their team consistently demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and a strong commitment to understanding not just the technical aspects of our work, but the purpose behind it. As an Indigenous-owned group of companies, everything we do is rooted in giving back to support community programming, education, and long-term opportunities for our Nation. Turning Point Surveys respects and supports that vision, making this partnership not only effective, but genuinely aligned with who we are and what we’re working to achieve."

Philanthropic Engagement
We are proud to support and collaborate with a diverse network of community organizations that strengthen the social fabric of Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo and the communities in which our corporate clients live and operate. Our philanthropic engagement focuses on initiatives that promote education, wellness, youth development, and cultural connection.
We actively contribute to key community events and programs such as the Keyano College Gala, which advances post-secondary education opportunities, and the Keyano Huskies, supporting student-athlete success. Our partnerships with Generation Dance Productions and Minor Hockey help foster creativity, teamwork, and confidence among youth.
In addition, we are committed to supporting local mental health and wellness initiatives, working alongside organizations such as Willow Lake Métis and participating in community-driven events like their golf tournament. We also engage with grassroots efforts and gatherings in communities such as Kelly Lake, helping to strengthen connections, celebrate culture, and promote overall well-being.
Through these partnerships, we aim to create lasting, positive impact, empowering individuals, supporting families, and contributing to a vibrant, resilient community.
Keyano College Huskies
"The Turning Points Player of the Game recognition might seem like a small thing, but it really resonates with our athletes. It gives them a moment to feel seen and appreciated for the effort they put in every day. We’re grateful to Turning Point for being part of that, it shows they care about the athletes and the experience we’re creating here at Keyano."
— Jeremy Wielenga, General Manager, Keyano Huskies
